We do say this quite often but it was such a pleasure to be a part of this big wedding weekend. Our wonderful bride and groom would like to remain anonymous but we just couldn’t let these beautiful images remain unseen. Thanks to the amazing Dara Blakeley Photography for taking them and sending these images our way!
This wedding was a first for us at Sally Oakley Personalized Wedding Planning. We have never planned and coordinated a Jewish Orthodox wedding and we dove right in with this one!
The wedding weekend lasted 3 days and consisted of 4 events total all in beautiful Durham. The couple invited many friends and family (300!) from all around the US (but mostly NYC) to help them in celebrating their union. We would like to give a shout out to Mitchell’s Catering who executed all the food and drinks for each event flawlessly; all while keeping everything kosher!

The couple absolutely loves Durham and its trendy and modern vibe. We worked tirelessly to create that feel and we think the venues chosen, the Nasher Museum of Art and The Cotton Room, are the epitome of Durham cool.

We will start with the cocktail extravaganza at the Nasher Museum of Art. The Nasher in Durham is such a wonderful space for a wedding or wedding event. It’s modern, unique and doesn’t distract from your event but adds that extra touch of something that very few venues can.

We decided to go with a bright color scheme of oranges and purples since this was a fun and different cocktail dinner. We think it turned out perfectly.  The vendors for the cocktail dinner were; CE Rentals for the linens, Tre Bella Florist for the unique and stunning arrangements, Mitchell’s Catering for the delicious spread, and Arioso Strings for the music. Our vendors were amazing and we think the night was a big success.

Seared to perfection.
Mouthwatering right?!

Seriously stunning.
How amazing is that ceiling? It gets us every time.

On Sunday the ceremony and reception took place at The Cotton Room. Keeping it simple with gorgeous flowers the couple signed the Ketubah and exchanged vows under a traditional Chuppah.

All set and ready to go!

Clean and simple.

Becoming Mr. and Mrs.

Exchanging rings, how gorgeous was her dress?

Another big thank you to our vendors for the wedding on Sunday.  The Cotton Room is such a versatile space we loved this ceremony set-up. CE Rentals, Mitchell’s, Tre Bella Flowers, Mt. Sinai Ramblers for ceremony music, reception music John Brown Band, The Parlour for dessert, and transportation by EcoStyle.

Long tables are so hot right now and we couldn’t agree more.

And lastly our stunning bride. Dara this photo is perfection!

Once more a big round of applause for all the vendors! To our wonderful bride and groom, thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful wedding and we wish you the best. It was such an amazing opportunity to coordinate and execute, from start to finish, a Jewish Orthodox wedding. We are so excited for what the rest of the year holds.
