Megan and Daniel’s beautiful Duke Gardens wedding took place on September 8, 2012. The Ceremony was held at the Angle Amphitheater and the Reception was held in the Doris Duke Center. It certainly was a hot day and the weather was not quite cooperative but Danny and Megan took it in stride. They were such a sweet and calm couple, who wouldn’t let a little heat or a lot of rain dampen their mood.

They even included their sweet pug Moonwalk.

How cute is he in his bowtie!!

Place cards in grass- we love the navy and bright pink combo in the stationary.

And the color combo again with the bridal party. Don’t you just love a bright pink?!

Their super cute wedding cake. I love all the references for places they’ve lived and been. Also those macaroons were delicious all by Miel Bon Bons.

As we stated earlier, the weather was a bit discouraging on their wedding day. When preparing and planning for your wedding you need to keep in mind that weather can be an issue if you would like to hold your wedding outside.
We always plan for the worst and hope for the best in terms of weather. Therefore, we have a plan B. In that plan we prepare to move chairs, tables, decor, food and everything in between. If you venue doesn’t have a building in which the ceremony or reception can be held we suggest having a tent on hold and making a decision the week of.  Also, we cannot stress enough how important it is to make sure you guests stay comfortable when holding your ceremony or reception outside.  If it is a particularly hot day have bottles of water ready for guests to grab as well as paper fans. Also, scope out your venue when trying to decide on a time to hold the ceremony. Either move the time accordingly or orient the setup of the ceremony so the sun is at your guests backs.
At the end of the day an outdoor wedding comes with its drawbacks but it can still be romantic, elegant, fun, and everything you’ve ever dreamed of! As always we are here for all your wedding planning needs.
